Call for art for RISE, an art exhibition for the 2025 Housing Central Conference
The art show at the 2025 Housing Central Conference returns with RISE. RISE explores the many dimensions of what it means to rise. From the physical act of building homes to the emotional journey through grief, displacement, healing, and transformation, this exhibition celebrates resilience, strength, and the human spirit. Inspired by both natural and built environments, how roots break through concrete, how light returns after a storm, how a home is created or reclaimed, RISE invites artists to interpret and express how we lift ourselves, and each other, in times of change and challenge.
Does your organization provide arts-related services or programming? Would you like to showcase your work in this area at the Conference?
Are you an artist whose work touches on housing-related issues, homelessness, mental health, addictions, overcoming stigma, or the power of resilience and renewal?
Artists may be and organizations must support:
• People with lived experience (homelessness, mental health and/or addictions)
• People living in non-profit housing or who access social services
• Professional artists who can present a cohesive collection of their work under the theme of “RISE” (Cohesion can be represented through the art style, through a common theme or through lived experiences e.g. background, identity, etc.)
Artwork may include 2D and 3D work, as well as installations. The art exhibition will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Sheraton Wall Centre in downtown Vancouver.
How to participate: Participation in the art exhibition is free, but space is limited. We are looking for a wide variety of work representing themes of identity, housing, homelessness, mental health and addictions. Once space is filled, a waitlist will be created in case of cancellations or if more space opens.
Deadline for submissions is Friday, September 12th, 2025, 11:59 PM PST.
